🌱 Thank You, Christ Church!

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, ā€œGo in peace, be warmed and filled,ā€ without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
-James 2:14-17

Dear Friends,

The board is walking along the path our Father has set before us, keeping in step with the Spirit, and we continue to be amazed by the way God provides for Rahab House through His faithful people.

Each day, a lie creeps into the hearts of sisters across Nashville and beyond, but by faithfully protecting the dignity, meeting material needs, and making space at Christ’s table, we all get to tell the better story. The true story of God’s rescuing love.

It is a story you are already participating in through prayer, contributions, and stepping into the world more aware of human trafficking’s presence in our communities.

It is a blessing to share that this week a woman was ready to exit trafficking and in addition to Rahab House’s team, Two churches jumped in to help with the Three L’s:

Logistics, Lodging, and Lunch šŸ˜„

We are blessed to know each of you, and grateful God has put us on this path together.

Your faith is alive and the fruit is sweet.

Praise Jesus.

Thank you Christ Church!

A few weeks ago we had a night of food, prayer, and furniture assembly at the house.

With the renovations nearly complete, the hours of work these friends put into the furniture brings us even closer to the official launch of the Refuge portion of operations.

Rescue & Prayer

Please continue to pray for our rescue coordinator, Lori.

As many of you know, the calling and work of Rescue, Refuge, and Restoration began even before Rahab House had a name. While we wait to open the doors to our refuge home, Lori is already doing the work, connecting with women, building trustworthy relationships, and guiding them to the resources they need, even when we aren’t yet equipped to provide them directly.

Lori’s work doesn’t pause for renovations, vacations, or sick days. And we are grateful God has put her where she is.

Upcoming Volunteer Landscaping Day

A dear and talented friend of the board has designed landscaping for the house that will provide a welcoming and lovely environment all four seasons of the year.

Once the days cool down some we will plan a time to dig, plant, paint, and power wash to bring the plan to life!

Service & Support

  • Furniture: We’ve started an Amazon shopping list for those who would like to directly purchase items for the house.

  • Monthly Donors: As we approach Day 1 of full refuge operations, knowing what provision to expect in the months ahead will allow us to make stable, wise, and well-stewarded plans for the good of each woman, and the glory of Christ our King. Please consider setting up a monthly donation here.

  • Lawn Care: We still need folks willing to mow the refuge house’s yard. Please reply to this email or text us at (615) 208-6051‬ to talk specifics of joining the rotation.

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
 because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;
 he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
 and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor,
 and the day of vengeance of our God;
 to comfort all who mourn;
to grant to those who mourn in Zion—
 to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
 the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
 the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
-Isaiah 61:1-3
